Mario Cake!

So, November 17th was my Mama's birthday and she loves Mario.  And I've been dying to make a Mario cake for her.  So here's what I came up with.

I made the Mario and pipe out of fondant the day before and let him dry overnight.  I put him together with toothpicks and a wooden dowl rod after everything dried.

Once he was put together, he looked really cute!  He was a little heavy, though, and the pipe smooshed in just a little bit. :/

I also made some different accents on the side with fondant.  They're all just MMF and some buttercream.

And my mom requested plain yellow cake with buttercream icing.  It was her birthday, so she got what she wanted! ;)
